Help & Guides

Frequently Asked Questions

Short guides on using the board: how posting code works, what the forum ranks mean, and which system features are available to members. Production Forums is a discussion forum about producing audio, video, art, or chatting about web design, photography, and any other form of creative works.

Forum Posting Code

Posting code lets you add formatting to messages without typing raw HTML. Tags are written in square brackets and closed with a matching tag.

 • text for bold text.
 • text for italics.
 • address to link to a page.
 •
text
to quote another post.
 • to place an image in a post.

Keep tags balanced and close them in the reverse order they were opened.

Forum Ranks

Ranks are labels shown under a member's name. They reflect how much a member has posted and are a quick way to see who has been contributing for a while.

 • Ranks change automatically as a member's post count grows.
 • Some ranks are tied to a member group rather than a post count.
 • Rank labels are informational and do not change what a member can do.

System Features

 • Search, including advanced search and quick links to active and unanswered topics.
 • Member list with top posters and newest members.
 • Personal profile, signature, and private messages.
 • Board-wide announcements and topic subscriptions.

The board runs on phpBB software, and the phpBB site documents further features.
